2-3 years of CDI experience required
The Clinical Documentation Specialist will facilitate and obtain appropriate, complete physician documentation within the medical record for any clinical condition and treatment to support the appropriate severity of illness of the patient.
Duties include completing admission reviews of patient records; conducting follow-up reviews of patients; querrying physicians regarding missing, unclear, or conflicting documentation and collaborating with appropriate staff on documentation.
AA degree in nursing required, BSN Prefered. Current State Licensure required. Candidate must have a minimum of two (2) years medical-surgical /critical care nursing experience in an acute care setting and two (2) years in Utilization ,Quality or Case Management is preferred; Acute care regulatory/accreditation requirements preferred.
Candidate should have strong organizational and prioritization skills and demonstrate leadership skills as well as excellent communication skills, problem solving, deductive reasoning skills and be able to participate collaboratively with all members of a care team.
Proficiency in the use of personal computer software and database software is required.
